Our training isn’t about stuffing a bunch of facts and processes into your brain and quizzing you on them. Instead, we focus on developing how you think, collaborate and lead.

THE LEARNING CENTER

The Learning Center helps our employees develop skillsets through virtual classroom training, online learning modules and multimedia engagement. Employees completed over 636,000 courses in the last year, an average of about 17.5 hours of training per employee.

LEADERSHIP LEARNING

Learning at Synchrony provides training experiences that are both practical and enriching. Courses are experience-based and tied to real-world situations that equip you with the knowledge and skills to be more effective and efficient as you lead yourself and others.

STEP PROGRAM

The Skills Training for Evolving Professionals (STEP) Program helps develop and grow nonexempt associate employees. It builds core competencies in time management, coaching and process improvement while developing knowledge through self-paced coursework, job shadowing, rotation assignments and mentoring.

SKILLS CERTIFICATION REIMBURSEMENT

To help employees gain the skills they’ll need in the future, we reimburse up to $9,000 USD per year for skills-based certifications in high-growth fields like cyber security, software engineering, data science and UX design. Employees are encouraged to add certifications to their internal worker profile so they can use what they learned in new roles.

Business Leadership Program

Our Business Leadership Program is an accelerated two-year leadership training program for recent college graduates. Once accepted, participants are given rotational assignments and cross-functional experiences to broaden their skill sets and build deep expertise. At the end of their BLP experience, successful participants are offered an opportunity to continue their career path with Synchrony.
