Job Description:

Role Summary/Purpose:

The VP Marketing, eCommerce Solutions will be responsible for driving growth by attracting digital SMB merchants to our solution set by leading Synchrony sourced campaigns and in partnership with leading eCommerce platforms.  The successful leader will establish strong and productive partnerships, acting as Synchrony’s Partner Manager with eCommerce platforms such as Adobe and Big Commerce.  He or she will develop, execute, and manage the marketing plan to promote the partnership in both the platform and Synchrony’s channels to acquire incremental merchants for eCommerce Solutions.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute B2B omni-channel marketing strategies, including traditional, digital, trade shows and partner channels

  • Create scalable programs that generate and nurture leads via events, paid, email, retargeting, direct mail, content promotion, and more

  • Lead digital strategy and partner with digital teams to execute SEO, SEM, email, social media where applicable

  • Create and articulate compelling value propositions around eCommerce Solutions including business cases, comprehensive pitch decks,  etc

  • Support product strategy and value proposition design, including merchant research, testing, development, and launch

  • Create guidelines on digital best practices for merchants to integrate financing into their website strategies and all other digital marketing channels

  • Identify, prioritize, and gain alignment around marketing and eCommerce Solutions strategies

  • Maintain a strong understanding of competitor products and experiences and find opportunities to continue to enhance customer experience

  • Establish and develop key relationships with the partner’s organization

  • Collaborate and partner with ecommerce partner, agencies and Synchrony teams to ensure flawless execution of acquisition marketing campaigns

  • Partner with cross-functional sales, marketing, credit, and operations teams to consistently deliver profitable sales while and adding value for our partners

  • Effectively partner and communicate across functions at all levels of the organization at SYF

  • Ensure compliance with all internal & partner legal and regulatory requirements

  • Perform other duties and/or eCommerce Solutions projects as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or, in lieu of a degree, a high school diploma and 10 years of marketing experience

  • 5+ years of marketing experience, preferably in financial services with critical experiences in amongst others: strategic planning and analysis, marketing optimization

  • Previous client-facing role or experience managing critical partnerships

  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time

Desired Characteristics:

  • MBA or advanced degree

  • Marketing experience with digital SMB industry in multiple industries

  • Financial services experience

  • B2B and B2C marketing experience 

  • Strong relationship building and partner leadership abilities

  • Experience in web analytics, attribution analysis, and digital media optimization

  • Digital marketing experience (SEO, SEM, email, social media)

  • Skilled at interpreting and leveraging data, strong analytical skills (segmentation, targeting, ROI prioritization strategies)

  • Experience managing creative agencies, research and analytic partners

  • Strong project management, organized, and detail oriented

  • Innovative problem solver

  • Curious, flexible, high energy, self-starter with an emphasis on action

  • Able to work in a fast-paced, complex, environment and manage multiple projects

  • Collaborative team player with ability to influence across all levels of organization

  • Executive verbal and written communication and presentation skills

Grade/Level: 12

                                                            

The salary range for this position is 110,000.00 – 185,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.

Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older

  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles.  Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles.  Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post.  All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
