Business Leadership Program Overview: 

Synchrony’s Business Leadership Program (Full-Time) is a two-year, multi-rotation experience that will help you develop the skills needed to accelerate your career. You’ll gain deep expertise across diverse Analytics tracks, with an opportunity to explore different areas of your chosen function. A Data Analytics BLP will get a unique opportunity to rotate across key areas of the analytics team, providing broad exposure to various analytical function, methodologies, and strategic projects. During the two years, you will also engage in a collection of immersive experiences designed to deepen your business knowledge, drive cross-functional exposure, broaden your network, and pay it forward within your community. 

The program provides successful graduates with the strong foundation of skills and experiences they need to grow their careers and position themselves for future leadership roles. 

 
Analytics Full-Time BLP Experience: What You’ll Accomplish  
 

Data is integral to who we are and how we address critical business problems. We’re harnessing the power of data to produce invaluable customer insights, and we’re leveraging data science to develop cutting-edge machine learning models to predict customer behavior. 
 

This individual will identify and deliver strategic insights and present those to stakeholders and clients. You will work with large and complex datasets to: 

  • Develop strategies to drive sales performance and loyalty programs with our retail partners 
  • Identify and Drive continued improvement in existing data processes, tools and dashboards
  • Partner closely with business to do diagnostic deepdives that uncover trends and patterns in customer behavior as a result of changes in business strategy
  • Build targeting and segmentation strategies to optimize targeting and personalization efforts (including marketing, credit offers)
  • Analyze customer experience data across channels & products to make data-driven recommendations to improve customer engagement and optimize cost for business

This track is unique because it touches virtually all areas of our business. This means you’ll gain a solid understanding of functions like Marketing, Risk, Credit, Technology, Collections and Operations. You’ll have a hand in creating what’s next, because as data grows, so do your opportunities. 

What do we look for in all potential BLPs? 

  • Hands-on Experience using SQL and Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to effectively work independently and within collaborative teams  
  • Ability to synthesize diverse information to develop and present insights to business in an easy-to-understand manner
  • Proven leadership both inside and beyond the classroom 
  • Strong communication skills 
  • Demonstrated flexibility, adaptability, and passion for learning  
  • Passion for excellence with high integrity and a commitment to quality 

Desired Characteristics for the Data Analytics Track 

  • Academic excellence with financial, quantitative and analytical competency 
  • Experience using PowerPoint 
  • Experience and comfort level working with data of varying sizes and from multiple sources 
  • Prioritization and time management skills  
  • Good presentation, speaking, organizational and problem-solving skills, and the capability to meet deadlines 
  • Ability to perform ad-hoc analysis, bringing independent thought leadership and value-added insights and judgment 
  • Prior data mining experience is helpful 

 
Basic Qualifications & Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline like Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, etc. 
  • Academic record – 7+ CGPA

Work Timings:

This role qualifies for Enhanced Flexibility and Choice offered in Synchrony India and will require the incumbent to be available between 06:00 AM Eastern Time – 11:30 AM Eastern Time (timings are anchored to US Eastern hours and will adjust twice a year locally). This window is for meetings with India and US teams. The remaining hours will be flexible for the employee to choose. Exceptions may apply periodically due to business needs.
