Role Summary/Purpose:

AVP, Analytics – Analytics Acceleration Team (individual contributor) role is a part of India Analytics Hub (IAH) and reports to Analytics Acceleration Team leader in IAH. This role is expected to actively contribute towards solving highly ambiguous/open-ended business problem by using data-driven approach to uncover insights, identify key drivers, and propose innovative, meaningful and business-friendly solutions. The ideal candidate is expected to leverage both quantitative and qualitative methods to generate insights that drive impactful business decisions.

The position is remote, where you have the option to work from home.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Co-Own and assist in the planning, execution, and delivery of high-impact, shorter & longer-term strategic analytics projects & solutions around decision optimization (example: Targeting & segmentation strategies, Lifetime Value and ROI based analytics) that address key business challenges. This includes defining the scope, formulating hypotheses, developing an approach to tackle unstructured problems and end-to-end build.

  • Work closely with business stakeholders to act as a strategic partner by using advanced analytics and breaking down broad business questions into well-defined analytics tasks, to create a path for data exploration, insight generation and data-driven decision-making on complex business problems.

  • Proactively explore and test new methods, tools, and technologies to solve business problems. Lead initiatives to pilot new approaches using advanced analytics that can drive strategic differentiation for the organization.

  • Collaborate across analytics and functional teams to understand their needs, gather requirements, and provide analytical support that drives impact on cross-functional initiatives.

  • Support strategic initiatives and analytic solutions building end-to-end, as assigned time to time

  • Help maintain documentation of all tools and solutions to drive clarity on processes/definitions as well as knowledge retention

  • Establish a strong partnership with stakeholders through consistent delivery, transparency and problem solving mindset

  • Deliver projects, adhering to expected timelines, accuracy & compliance with meticulous project management and mentor team members on analytical, technical and functional subject matters

  • Actively Participate in internal initiatives, perform other duties and/or special projects, as assigned

Eligibility Criteria:

Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, or any other quantitative streams with 4+ years of hands-on relevant analytics/data science experience, or in lieu of a degree 6+ years of relevant analytics/data science experience.

Required Skills & Knowledge:

  • 4+ years of hands-on Experience in SQL /SAS with proven ability to leverage advanced algorithms and be efficient in handling complex/large data

  • 2+ years of experience in BI tools, e.g. Power BI, Tableau, Birst, etc.

  • 2+ years in marketing analytics, with a focus on customer analytics

  • 2+ years in building analytics to drive strategy with positive outcomes and measuring impact

  • Proven experience with large-scale data analysis, data mining, and statistical modeling.

  • Ability to solve complex technical and people-oriented problems with minimal supervision

  • Advanced proficiency in MS-Excel and MS-PowerPoint with superior data analyses and story boarding skills

  • Strong written/oral communication & stakeholder management skills

  • Experience in storytelling, presenting to senior leaders with strong communication skills

  • Innovative mindset that looks to improve current capabilities and discover new ones

  • Deeper knowledge of latest tools, techniques and trends in data analytics and machine learning.

  • Experience working with Python and R, preferably in a Linux-based cloud environment such as AWS

  • Experience with modeling/forecasting

Work Timings: This role qualifies for Enhanced Flexibility and Choice offered in Synchrony India and will require the incumbent to be available between 06:00 AM Eastern Time – 11:30 AM Eastern Time (timings are anchored to US Eastern hours and will adjust twice a year locally). This window is for meetings with India and US teams. The remaining hours will be flexible for the employee to choose. Exceptions may apply periodically due to business needs.
